Driving Lessons #1

01/07/17 -  I drove a car and didn't crash it. This was unsurprisingly an introduction lesson going through the basics and car safety.

Unfortunately for me I 'live in the worst area for learner drivers' according to my instructor; It took about half an hour to get to a somewhat 'learner friendly' area and even then there were a few more cars than usual. Because of this my first lesson was more than just the expected 'Stop and Start' lesson.

Typically here you would just get to grips with the vehicle, how to adjust it to be suitable for you, safety and then starting and stopping. Because of the area and the confidence the instructor had, I ended up doing about five laps on quiet and main roads, Turning, very basic parking on an empty kerb and other car meetings (there were a lot of those and a lot of them have questionable driving skills and were incredibly arrogant - they're the kind of people you just have to get used to)

That was it. Other things that I learned was that it takes about 30-35 hours until you are ready to pass your practical and it is also recommended you have at least one lesson a week especially so you don't forget anything.

The next lesson is Tuesday and I'm just hoping I get more luck and and there are less cars on the road.
